Education Programs
Community Awareness
The Center provides educational programs to the community through the following programs: "Child Abuse, What is it and What Can I Do About It", "The Multi-disciplinary Approach to Child Abuse Investigation". This past year, staff, volunteers and community professionals also conducted more than 25 speaking engagements. Numerous churches, civic organizations, PTA's, schools and businesses were enlightened by the programs offered. These programs are available at no cost to anyone interested.
Another goal identified by the Center is providing training for the professionals in our community. Through grants from Children's Advocacy Centers of Texas and Victims of Crime Act the Center is able to provide training to keep professionals up to date with the ever-changing trends in the area of investigation, prosecution and forensic interviewing of children in child abuse cases.
The Education Program conducts community awareness activities throughout the year regarding child sexual abuse and severe physical abuse as well as sexual assault issues.
