Mission Statement
Our mission is to make a positive difference in the lives of children and families affected by sexual abuse through education and intervention.

How You Can Help

There are so many different ways you can help us help abused children and their families. Your gift can be tailored to fit your particular wishes. Listed below are some of the most common types of charitable giving.

Cash

A gift to HCCAC can be as simple as mailing a check, making a donation online, by bank draft or credit card. Your monetary donation is totally tax deductible. We can also do a pledge amount carried over for three years, with as much as you would like per month given directly to HCCAC.

Real Estate

When you make a gift of real property held for more than one year, you obtain an income tax charitable deduction equal to the property's full fair market value. This deduction allows you to offset the cost of making the gift and may free cash that otherwise would have been used to pay taxes. You may also avoid capital gains taxes on the property's appreciation.

Gifts of Personal Property

When considering a gift, remember that valuable collections, works of art, and other forms of tangible personal property can be used as contributions. By donating such items during your lifetime, you can reduce the size of your taxable estate and you may also receive a charitable income tax deduction of the year the gift was given.

Gifts of Stocks, Bonds and Mutual Funds

If you donate appreciated securities to HCCAC, you may avoid capital gains taxes and you may be able to use the full market value of the gift as a charitable deduction.

Wills

Your will can direct the distribution of your estate after your passing. This can include liquid assets, real estate and personal property. Most people make a Will so that they can share their possessions with the people they care for, or institutions they believe in. In effect, your Will becomes the document directing your last intentions and assures that your wishes are followed. We highly recommend that you utilize the services of an attorney to prepare your will.

HCCAC Events

During the spring we host a Pedal Power Wildflower Bike Ride through the beautiful Hill Country, starting and ending at LBJ State Park in Stonewall, Texas. We have close to 800 riders and are an MS150 recommended ride. We serve breakfast, lunch and plenty of water, fruit, etc. at the five rest stops along their ride. A t-shirt for every participant is given in their goodie bags at registration. The ride covers 62 miles of gorgeous wildflowers and amazing scenery. Of course, you may also choose 12, 23 or 36 miles to ride. We need sponsors, their logos and name will appear on the t-shirts, our web site and all other written materials in the media. We also need donations of water, sodas, food and lots of volunteers. The ride is March 31st, 2012 next year.

The fall brings another signature event, Help Us Stomp Out Child Abuse. During 2011 it was held at the pristine Spicewood Vineyards with music, food, silent & live auctions. People of like minds come together to renew old friendships and make new ones with others that care about the children of our communities and their well being. These generous individuals are loyal to our mission of giving hope for the future to kids who have suffered at the hands of people, that in 90% of our cases, is someone they know and trust. Opportunities for helping with this event include Sponsorships, an event venue, auction items, food, drinks and volunteering. The date for this event is pending.

We live in such giving communities, with people who make it a point to make a difference. We appreciate each day when, through your gifts, we can offer free services to abused children and their families and give them hope that life can be better and there are people who really care about them and their welfare.

Please don't hesitate to call or email anyone on our staff or on our board for more information on any of these giving opportunities.

Thank you so much for your consideration of Hill Country Children's Advocacy Center as a beneficiary of your generosity to help our most precious resources, our children.

To invest in a child does pay the best dividends.
