Volunteer
Volunteers are vital to the services we provide. In turn, we offer our volunteers the opportunity to show children that there is someone who cares about their young lives. Volunteers demonstrate this by spending time with the child in the playroom while they are waiting for an interview or a therapy session.
Volunteers may also assist in special events, fundraising, clerical and administration needs. Most volunteers average about four hours a week at The CAC, but the hours are very flexible. We operate on the philosophy that all help is welcome and greatly appreciated.
Requirements and Application Process
Due to the extreme sensitivity of the work at The CAC, we do have some steps in place for those interested in volunteering to follow:
- Submit an Application and confidentiality agreement.
- Take part in a personal interview.
- Agree to criminal and Children's Protective Services background checks.
- Be at least 18 years of age.
- Attend 8-hour training class at the CAC.
Training
Volunteer training consists of 8 hours of thorough program and sexual abuse training by staff and partner agencies of the CAC. The volunteer training is conducted on an as needed basis.
