Education

The Hill Country Children’s Advocacy Center works to protect children by increasing awareness in the community about child abuse. Our training and outreach programs are designed to help school personnel, physicians, nurses and social workers identify the signs and symptoms of sexual abuse and to teach them how to respond when a child calls out for help. The CAC also has a training for those who work with children on Child Development and Age Appropriate Sexual Behavior.

For children the CAC has awareness programs on Date Safety, Internet Safety, and a program entitled Anyone, Anywhere.

It is only through awareness in our communities about the issue of child abuse that the cycle of abuse can be stopped. Please contact Doris Graeter at 512-756-2607 about requesting a trainer/speaker.

If you suspect a child has been sexually abused you are required to make a report.

A suspicion, not proof, is required to make a report. Report suspected abuse immediately to:
CPS 1-800-252-5400 or your local law enforcement.
